What Are Peptides?
An intro to peptide chemistry & research.
A practical introduction to peptide chemistry, structure, and their role in modern laboratory research.
Peptides are short chains of amino acids — typically between 2 and 50 — linked together by peptide bonds. They sit between single amino acids and full-length proteins on the molecular size spectrum.
Because peptides are smaller and more selective than proteins, they make ideal tools for probing receptor pathways, signaling cascades, and structure-activity relationships.
Lyophilized peptides are stable for extended periods at −20°C. Once reconstituted, store at 2–8°C and use within 14–30 days depending on the compound.
